This is an old picture of James J. Braddock Park. It was named in honor after a boxer that grew up and lived all of his life in North Bergen and became the unlikely champion of the World Heavy Weight title from 1935 to 1937. He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2001. Another example of North Bergen history that probably not most people know. This park besides being named in honor of the late boxer, continues to serve the community every day as a place to spend time with family and participate in recreational activities.
